Privacy notice
Last updated: [DATE]. This notice explains how Contrail Studios handles personal information. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and, for visitors in the UK, the UK GDPR.
Who we are
Contrail Studios is a business name of [YOUR LEGAL NAME], ABN [ABN], [POSTAL ADDRESS], Western Australia. Contact us about privacy at hello@contrailstudios.com.
What we collect
- Onboarding brief (after you buy): your name, email, brand and website, the answers you give about your products, customers, competitors and ad specs, any files you upload or links you share, and your Stripe checkout reference. While you fill it in, your answers are saved only in your own browser (local storage) so you can come back later; they're cleared when you submit, or when you click “Start over”.
- Booking a call: your name, email and chosen time, collected by our scheduling provider.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, billing details and payment status, but never your full card number.
- Client work: materials you send us, and, if you choose to give it, view-only ad account data or screenshots for reports.
- Emails you send us.
This website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. Our scheduling and payment providers may set their own cookies when you use them.
How we use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare proposals, deliver and invoice work, produce reports, meet legal and tax obligations, and send occasional updates about our services. You can opt out of updates at any time by replying “unsubscribe”. For UK visitors, our lawful bases are taking steps toward a contract, our legitimate interest in running and promoting our business, and legal obligation.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the business: Formspree (form submissions and uploaded files), Calendly or Cal.com (scheduling), Stripe and Wise (payments), our email provider, and any editor who helps produce your Ads under confidentiality. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Enquiries we don't proceed with are deleted within 24 months. Client records are kept for as long as we need them for the work and for at least 5 years for tax purposes. Ad account data is kept only as long as needed to prepare reports and calculate fees.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing us. UK visitors can also object to processing and ask for a copy in a portable format. If you're unhappy with how we handle a complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
We use reputable providers, strong passwords and two-factor authentication, and we limit access to client data to people who need it.
Changes
We may update this notice and will change the date above when we do.
